Mema Atelier — A New Chapter, Ten Years in the Making
For more than a decade, Mema Bakery has been devoted to the art of creating desserts with care, precision and a deeply personal touch.
What began as a humble passion for baking gradually grew into something more — a pursuit of craftsmanship, thoughtful design and flavours that are both refined and memorable. Every creation has been shaped by the belief that a beautiful dessert should never be beautiful for appearance alone. It should be carefully considered, well balanced and made with intention.
The name “Mema” carries a story of its own. Inspired by a child’s gentle mispronunciation of “姨妈”, it has always represented something warm, familiar and close to the heart. That sentiment remains unchanged, even as the brand continues to evolve.
After ten years, Mema Bakery becomes Mema Atelier.
The change is more than a new name. Atelier, meaning a studio or workshop of an artist, reflects what Mema has naturally grown to become — a creative space where pastry, confectionery and edible artistry come together.
Grounded in classical foundations from Le Cordon Bleu and refined through years of hands-on experience, Mema’s work has continued to evolve across different forms of craftsmanship. Our journey has also led us into the delicate world of Japanese wagashi, with certification under the Japan Wagashi Association, introducing a new language of seasonality, restraint and intricate handcrafting.
Today, Mema Atelier brings together the techniques and sensibilities that have shaped our journey — from French-inspired patisserie and customised celebration cakes to Japanese wagashi and contemporary handcrafted confections.
Different disciplines, yet guided by the same philosophy:
Thoughtful in flavour.
Intentional in design.
Made with craftsmanship and heart.
Ten years on, we are not leaving Mema Bakery behind. We are carrying everything it represents forward.
Mema Atelier is the next chapter of the same story — more refined, more expressive, and with more room to create.
Formerly Mema Bakery.
Now, Mema Atelier.
